• Treasurer's Report: $1,051.58

• Committees

o Social: year end picnic, announcement will be soon. Picnic is May 5th from 12-3pm
o Community Outreach: Book drive for Hurricane Katrina
o ACRL: already had our last meeting
o Conference: need help (carpool, lodging, etc) with ALA conference? Email Karla kstover2@uiuc.edu

• Introduction of first speaker: Diana Gregory Sizemore, recent GSLIS grad, about ALA conferences

• Suggestions include networking as much as possible, intern/volunteer on a committee (usually you will take minutes, be on their listserv, small commitment). Talk to everyone about jobs (not just at Placement Center), lots of volunteer projects in New Orleans. Talk to vendors (esp. mention you're from UIUC!), often get invitations to receptions, parties. Midwinter conference is more committee meetings, easier to talk to people, smaller. Email her with any questions! dgregory@uiuc.edu.

• Introduction of second speaker: Eric Sizemore, recent GSLIS grad and librarian at Champaign Public Library.

•previously worked in business, was hired at Champaign Public in a non-traditional way. Learning how difficult it is to weed from the collection, learn a lot on the job. Wished he had done an internship/practicum while at GSLIS. Job is very rewarding, face-to-face interaction.

•Candle: wrap-up and thanks for everyone's participation!!

•Any members interested in getting involved over the summer, email the board and we're happy to help you get involved.
